The
late Howard Morris, longtime Oregon Tech coach and athletic director, is honored
by his alma mater, Linfield.
The #43 decal on Linfield Wildcat football helmets during the 2017 season salutes Morris, a Linfield football All-American and one of only three Linfield football players to have their jersey numbers retired. He wore #43 during his Linfield playing career, 1954-1957.
A 1958 Linfield and 1954 Crater High School of Central Point, Ore., grad, he died in Klamath Falls, Ore., in July 2017.
