Funeral for Adolf Rutschman Jr., a Hillsboro resident for 75 years, will be at 11 a.m. March 9, 1983, in the Hillsboro Christian Church. Private burial will be in Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland.

Mr. Rutschman died March 1, 1983, in an area hospital. He was 79.

Born in Butler County, Kansas, on May 12, 1903, he moved to Washington County at age 4. He was head of warehouse and maintenance at the Hillsboro Grade School District for 21 years, retiring in 1968.

Mr. Rutschman was one of the organizers of the Oregon School Employees Association and served as president. He was a member of Hillsboro Christian Church and active in the Hillsboro Men’s Garden Club.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn; sons, Adolf III of McMinnville and Robert of Juneau, Alaska; sisters, Hannah Bretthauer of Hillsboro and Helen Campbell of Madras; brother, Ted of Newberg; and seven grandchildren.

The family suggests remembrances be contributed to the Hillsboro Christian Church or the Linfield College Men’s Athletic Department.

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Feb. 7, 2003, in Donelson, Sewell & Mathews Mortuary in Hillsboro, Ore. for Evelyn A. Rutschman, who died Jan. 30, 2003, at age 93.

Evelyn Annette Heineck was born July 2, 1909, in Laurel (Washington County), Ore.

She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Portland, Ore., and since 1941 lived in Hillsboro, where she was a homemaker, cannery worker for Birds Eye and cook for Hillsboro High School. She was a member of Hillsboro Christian Church and sang in its choir. In 1930, she married Adolf Jr.; he died in 1983.

Survivors include her sons, Ad and Robert; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
