When the Portland Timbers professional soccer
team was in its NASL heyday, one of the team's songs (maybe the only song) was "Green is the Color." Green is the team's color.
For the Northwest Conference, green is a color
not used by any of the NWC's nine member schools:
- George Fox: Navy Blue & Old Gold
- Lewis & Clark: Orange & Black
- Linfield: Cardinal & Purple
- Pacific: Red & Black
- PLU: Gold & Black
- UPS: Maroon & White
- Whitman: Navy Blue & Maize
- Whitworth: Pirate Red & Black
- Willamette: Cardinal & Old Gold
