TOM MEICHO, Rest in Peace
Long-time
Linfield administrator — including admissions director — Tom Meicho died Saturday
morning, April 30, 2022, in McMinnville. Memorial
service details will be announced.
Survivors include Jean, his widow. Both graduated
from Linfield, Tom in 1951 and Jean Woest Meicho in 1953. They were married 72
years.
Other survivors include their children, Grant and
Jackie, and extended family and many friends who cared for Tom

Tom Meicho, Linfield College
class of 1951, worked as a pastor after graduation before returning to his alma
mater to work as an administrator and teacher, directing the Office of
Admissions and serving on the Board of Trustees. His career was devoted to higher
education and to making Linfield a better place.
In this interview, Meicho
talks about his years and experiences at the college. He discusses his
relationships made as a student and faculty member, including various
presidents and the impacts they made during their time in office. He leaves the
students of today with the advice to "be flexible."
