HILLSBORO-LINFIELD CONNECTION VIA COACH AD RUTSCHMAN

• You know Ad Rutschman is of Hillsboro, Oregon, born there Oct. 30, 1931.
• You know he graduated from Hillsboro High School (Hilhi) in 1950.
• You know he graduated from Linfield College in 1954 and earned his M.Ed. in 1958.
• You know he was an outstanding student-athlete at both Hilhi and Linfield. Football, basketball and baseball.
• You know after coming to McMinnville from Hillsboro to attend Linfield that he returned to Hillsboro and was a successful teacher-coach at Hilhi. He was head coach of the Hilhi Spartans in football and baseball and won state titles in both sports. Then, in 1968 he returned to Linfield to be a head coach. At Linfield he led the same two sports and won national titles (one in baseball, three in football) in them.
