At Linfield, Joe Robillard is known in Wildcat sports as a football player and
track & field athlete.
On Saturday, April 6, 1968, Linfield
had a track meet a Maxwell Stadium and at the same time there was a L&C vs.
Linfield baseball doubleheader on the
old baseball field where Rutschman Fieldhouse is now located
(Linfield won, 15-0 and 2-1.)
Guess for which Linfield team Joe
competed. Baseball.
It was documented in the April 11,
1968, edition of the Linfield Review student newspaper.

home to tie second Lewis and Clark game. The 'Cats went on to win, 2-1.”

Janssen’s Review story says, Linfield
player “Frank Molek walked. Joe Robillard went to run for Molek
and promptly stole second base. Jeff Richards then singled to center to score Robillard,
tying up the score. (A) rhubarb followed when the Pioneers, led by head coach
Fred Wilson, claimed that Robillard failed to touch third base on his
way home and should be called out."
The Pioneers’ claimed Joe failed to touch third base. They were correct. Joe said he did miss the base.
