Whole lot of Linfielders coaching football in NWC

"Linfielder" is defined as someone who studied at (not necessarily graduating from) and played football for Linfield.

Six of the eight Northwest Conference football-playing schools have Linfielders on their football coaching staffs.

Unless noted, all listed below are assistant or assumed to become assistant football coaches.

LINFIELD -- Head coach Joe Smith, Doug Hire, JacksonVaughan, Phil Rombach, Axel Cederberg, Brandon Hazenberg, Ad Rutschman, Gabe Haberly, Aaron Boehme and Kyle Otineru.  These coaches were listed on the Linfield athletics website on 1/12/2013.

GEORGE FOX -- Head coach Chris Casey, Bob Mewhinney, Ken Ingram.

In 2014, George Fox resumes playing football.  Insiders tell Wildcatville that initially Casey will have three assistant coaches. Speculation is that two of the three assistants will be Mewhinney, who was an assistant coach for Casey at Aloha, and Ken Ingram, former Hillsboro High head football coach. A story at the Oregonian website posted 1/11/2013 says Ingram "would neither confirm nor deny reports that he plans to join Chris Casey's staff at George Fox University."

PUGET SOUND -- Thomas Ford and Dan Lever.

PACIFIC --  James Yen.
LEWIS & CLARK -- Tim Jacobs.

WILLAMETTE -- Brandon Lemon and Mikey Lemon.

PLU and WHITWORTH have no Linfielders on their football coaching staffs. Interesting to note, however, that Adam Lindly, Whitworth assistant football coach, was an assistant coach on Aloha High School's state football championship team while Chris Casey was coaching there.  Lindly -- as a Whitworth football player and Casey a Whitworth assistant football coach -- was coached by  Casey.
